The hard part is done! Well, at least in terms of the core courses. This course, however, might be new to you in that you will dive deep into interpreting the data of a study. This is the next step in the research process, designed to take you from a mere reader of studies to understanding what the data means in the research projects.

Course Description
This course provides an overview of the process and skills necessary for organizational leaders to make effective data-driven decisions. Topics include: defining business analytics, quantifying the value it brings to an organization, and harnessing the power of analytics to gain an advantage.
Rationale
The purpose of this course is to provide students completing a Doctoral degree program and organizational leaders with the analytical and forecasting skills essential for strategic decision-making. This course provides leaders with the crucial strategic data analytics knowledge required at all levels of management.
Assignments
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion. After reading the text of the course needed on each weekly topic, the student will write a discussion thread that addresses the subject from the assigned reading, demonstrating critical thinking, synthesis, and comprehension.
Each thread must be 500-750 words in length and provide a discussion that incorporates the student’s own professional work experience (if applicable) and content learned from the readings. Within your thread, the student must provide one (1) citation to the assigned course textbook readings for the week, one (1) citation to a Scripture passage that is relevant to the weekly topic, and one (1) citation to a high quality peer-reviewed journal article published within the last five years. The sources must be cited in the current APA format. More sources can always be used and are encouraged, but the student is only expected to meet the minimum requirement.
In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. All reply posts will be 250–500 words. Each reply must provide critical thinking and synthesis to the point stated in the original author’s post and include an analysis of the student’s classmates’ threads based on any experience from his/her professional career (if applicable) that might be relevant. Within each reply, the student must provide one (1) citation to the assigned course textbook readings for the week. He/she must also offer either one (1) citation to a Scripture passage that is relevant to the weekly topic or one (1) citation to a high-quality peer-reviewed journal article published within the last five years for each reply. The sources must be cited in the current APA format. More sources can always be used and are encouraged, but the student is only expected to meet the minimum requirement.
Faith Integration Paper Assignments (6)
There are six Faith Integration Paper Assignments in this course. Each paper will be at least 1,000–1,500 words (approximately 4–6 pages) and will include at least 4 high-quality peer-reviewed sources. A 125–175 word abstract is required and does not count as part of the paper word count. Each paper should make use of the current APA format.
Both course textbooks are required sources. At least one (1) peer-reviewed journal article must be included and must be published within the past 5 years. At least one (1) Biblical source must be cited and referenced. The student can always provide more sources, but the four (4) listed sources above are required.
Then answer the question being posed in the provided chart in the corresponding week to the assignment as a Christian leader with critical reflection of the topic, supported by in-text citations and examples. All Faith Integration Paper Assignments should provide discussion and analysis of how data analytics is applied in organizations and how leaders within these organizations utilize data analytics practices in their day-to-day business operations. All assignments must be submitted in MS Word format. PDF documents are not accepted.
Project/Leadership Integration Essay Assignments (2)
There are two research-based (2) Project/Leadership Integration Essays in this course. Each essay will be 2,500-3,000 words in length (approx. 10–12 pages). A 150-250 word abstract is required and does not count as part of the paper word count. Each essay focuses on the integration of leadership and the application of data analytics. There must be at least six high-quality peer-reviewed sources plus the course textbooks. At least two (2) peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last five years must be included as sources. At least two (2) Biblical sources must be cited, and the Bible used referenced. The course textbooks are required sources. Each of these papers will be written in the current APA format. In-text citations are necessary throughout the essay. The student may provide more peer-reviewed sources as desired, but he/she is only required to meet the minimum requirement.
The student must answer the question posed in the chart in Canvas as a Christian leader, providing critical reflection on the topic, supported by in-text citations and real-world practical examples. All assignments must be submitted in MS Word format. PDF documents are not accepted.
What You Should Know about BMAL 720
I liked this course and the instructor. I had Dr. Chris Bellamy, and he was fair, prompt, and provided informative feedback throughout the course.
Notably, they inform you that you are allowed to “pick” your project chair for the 800 courses. I selected Dr. Bellamy and the instructor for BMAL 720, along with one other instructor. I was assigned someone else. It worked out well in the end, but you should know that they will likely pick someone for you.
Here is my final paper in this course: Collection and Management Methods to Keep a Business Competitive
Bottom Line
The post outlines a course focused on data interpretation for organizational leaders as part of a Doctoral degree program. It emphasizes the skills needed for effective data-driven decision-making, covering business analytics and its value.
Students are required to engage in discussions and complete assignments, including writing discussion threads and responding to classmates. They must cite sources from course textbooks, Scripture, and peer-reviewed articles.
This blog has been found most useful by students reading it in order. I wrote a post a week to chronicle my time in the entire program, and for the most part, they are tagged by course. For example, here is BMAL 720. I have included a lot of my papers as PDFs. Feel free to use them as a guide.
