October means one thing around here: 31 Nights of Horror.

For 31 nights, we dig into horror from every corner of the genre. Some nights celebrate the classics. Others focus on directors, actors, monsters, stereotypes, strange deaths, questionable remakes, and movies that are simply too much fun to ignore.

The rules are simple. We pick a new theme every night, then choose a movie that fits. Sometimes the connection is obvious. Sometimes we have to get creative. That is part of the fun.

For 2026, we’re going from PG-13 horror and creepy old houses to Jordan Peele, Frankenstein, Stephen King, vampires, sewer monsters, highway horror, and, naturally, a movie set on Halloween to close out the month.

Night 1: PG-13 Horror

Horror doesn’t need an R rating to work. The best PG-13 horror movies prove that atmosphere, suspense, great storytelling, and a well-timed scare can be every bit as effective as blood and gore.
