Storyline

A refugee couple makes a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, but then they struggle to adjust to their new life in an English town that has an evil lurking beneath the surface.

‘His House’ delivers a thought-provoking horror experience elevated by brilliant lead performances and powerful social commentary on refugee experiences. The film’s unique blend of supernatural scares with themes of racism and integration resonates deeply, creating suspenseful atmosphere through creative imagery. However, some found the pacing slow, particularly in the second half, with mixed opinions on the script’s clarity and overall engagement. The genre-blending approach proves divisive, though most appreciate its originality and emotional depth.

Our thoughts on His House (2020)

Quiet dull and boring, more drama than horror – nothing special or interesting, and for sure not a good horror movie: the horror parts are what I call all cliche in. If you are a connoisseur of the art of horror you can easily skip this one.
