BMAL 710

Week 40 of 130 (BMAL 710)

February 9, 2021 by robertforto Leave a Comment

Weeks 40 of approximately 130 is in the books in my doctorate program.

We are in the third week of the term in BMAL 710 and I made a huge error. I was in such a hurry to finish up my writing for the week and also doing a dog sled race that I forgot to turn in my paper on time. After a bunch of back and forth with my professor, she finally allowed me to turn it in late, albeit with a 10% penalty.

Thankfully I was able to turn it in. If I was not and got a 0 on it I would have to repeat the course, most likely because we are only allowed to have one B in our entire program, and if I would have missed that one I would be at a B, and I could not afford to lose a single point for the rest of the term!

Also, Michele is starting her journey this week too and she is very excited! Please do me a favor and follow her over on LinkedIn.

Week 39 of 130 (BMAL 710)

Weeks 39 of approximately 130 is in the books in my doctorate program.

The second week of the term for BMAL 710 is full steam ahead. We jumped right into a massive discussion post. It has a 2200 word count requirement with a minimum of seven scholarly sources. I thought discussion boards were to stimulate conversations between classmates but these are like mini-research papers! Anyhow, we compared and contrasted the Open, Natural, and Rational Systems of an Organization. I found some good articles that I plan to save to my ever-increasing bibliography.

Weeks 38 of approximately 130 is in the books in my doctorate program.

The new semester and spring term started this week. It is my first week in BMAL 710 Understanding the Organization. It was a rather light week; the normal introductions and a short writing assignment. It was an abstract for our big research project in week 7. I am writing about problems in the Dreamchaser Leadership organization and our Serum Run Expedition trip last winter. I will be examing strategic decision-making, team management, and group dynamics.

Also, Michele is starting her journey this week too and she is very excited! Please do me a favor and follow her over on LinkedIn.

Weeks 36 and 37 of approximately 130 is in the books in my doctorate program.

This is the last week of our almost month-long winter break and it is time to get back at it. It is amazing how fast time flies by and I am knee-deep into the next class.

The upcoming spring term starts Monday and I am taking one class per eight-week session. The first one up is BMAL710 Understanding the Organization. Another course is where we research how and why organizations operate as they do and the best practices to ensure their growth.

I have heard this class is a tough one!

Also, Michele is starting her journey this week too and she is very excited! Please do me a favor and follow her over on LinkedIn.
