For this year’s 31 Nights of Horror Challenge, the Day 24 prompt is Air BnB of Horror. We watched the movie, The Rental on Amazon Prime.

Storyline

Two couples on an oceanside getaway grow suspicious that the host of their seemingly perfect rental house may be spying on them. Before long, what should have been a celebratory weekend trip turns into something far more sinister, as well-kept secrets are exposed and the four old friends come to see each other in a whole new light.

Our Thoughts on The Rental (2020)

While the third act helps the horror/thriller aspects, unlikeable characters and a useless red herring bring this film down to the depths of mediocrity.

4 out of 10 stars

Trivia

Filmed in Bandon, Oregon at an actual beach rental.

Star Alison Brie is married to director Dave Franco.
