For this year’s 31 Nights of Horror Challenge, the Night 19 prompt is Set in a School. We watched the movie The Faculty on Amazon Prime.

Storyline

A horror tale set in a High School where the students suspect the teaching staff of being aliens, who are intent on making the students their victims.

Our Thoughts on The Faculty

This movie is nothing more than a cheap rip-off of “the invasion of the body snatchers”. Even the characters in this movie discuss “the invasion of the body snatchers” in one scene, which I thought was pathetic. “The Faculty” is not an enjoyable film, it is predictable, boring, and is not original in any way. If you like pathetic movies, then this is the movie for you.

Trivia

The drug test scene is an homage to the blood test in The Thing (1982).

Principal Drake gets her name from the Drake Equation, which is used to estimate how much intelligent life there is in the universe.

The car Zeke drives is a 1970 Pontiac GTO.

Robert Rodriguez cast Josh Hartnett and Elijah Wood again in Sin City (2005).
