Our Thoughts on The Munsters (2022)
This movie is so corny but also so Rob Zombie. This was a passion project for him. While not terrible, it is bad. I loved The Munsters as a kid and watched it all of the time and picked up on a lot of the throwbacks, of course there were many. It was also fun to see all of the references to other horror and Rob Zombie things too like the Live Dead Girls sign.

Trivia
Rob Zombie shot the film with a heightened color scheme. “I noticed when the actors were in their makeup and they were just walking around, getting lunch or whatever, they looked like cartoon characters come to life. They were just so insanely colorful. I had to light the movie in the same fashion. It really seemed at all times like a live action cartoon, which was really exciting.”
Original Munsters actors Butch Patrick and Pat Priest have voice cameos in the film. Butch, who played Eddie in the original series, is the voice of the Tin Can Man. Pat, who played Marilyn in the original series, is the voice of the Transylvania Airlines announcer.
Real estate agent Barbara Carr is played by Cassandra Peterson, who is best known for portraying Halloween icon Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
The teaser trailer is a shot-by-shot remake of the The Munsters (1964) title sequence.
The character of Zombo on the TV program Herman was watching was featured in the original series. Eddie idolized Zombo and won a contest that allowed him to visit the set of the show. He became very upset when he discovered Zombo was just an actor in make-up. Then in the fashion of 1950s-60s TV, Eddie realized his dad was who he should be idolizing, not Zombo.
