Nicolas Cage | 31 Nights of Horror

For this year’s 31 Nights of Horror Challenge, the Day 15 prompt is Nicolas Cage. We watched the  movie, Pay The Ghost on Amazon Prime Video

Storyline

One year after Mike Lawford’s young son disappeared during a Halloween carnival, he is haunted by ghostly images and terrifying messages he can’t explain. Together with his estranged wife, he will stop at nothing to unravel the mystery and find their son, in doing so, he unearths the legend of the crying woman who refuses to remain buried in the past.

Our Thoughts on Pay the Ghost (2015)

There are a lot of ghost story cliches in this movie and that is to be expected but the story is not half bad, hence why I gave it a solid five. I am not a big Nic Cage fan. I dont know what it is, he just never seems to be “there” in his movies, like he is going through the motions.

5 out of 10

Trivia

If Annie kidnapped 3 children per year from Halloween 1680 (the first year after she and her children were slain in 1679) to 2015 (335 years total), she’s captured 1005 children.

When Mike (Nicolas Cage) is hanging the ‘Missing Child’ posters, you can clearly see another poster, partly hidden, that shows only the word: ‘witch’! Clearly a hint to the antagonist in this movie.
