Michael Myers | 31 Nights of Horror

For this year’s 31 Nights of Horror Challenge, the Day 25 prompt is Michael Myers. We watched the Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers on Max.

Storyline

Six years after Michael Myers’ last massacre in Haddonfield, Jamie Lloyd has a child, but is then killed by Michael. Michael is allied with the Cult of Thorn, who both protect him and gave him the Curse of Thorn, the reason he killed all of his family. The Strode Family also moved into the Myers’ house and are stalked by Michael. Sam Loomis and Tommy Doyle, a boy Laurie babysat during Michael’s first rampage, are now out to stop Michael and the cult. Michael heads to kill Jamie’s son and the rest of Laurie’s family, but Dr. Loomis and Tommy plan to stop the curse, defeat the cult, stop Michael, and put an end to his murderous rampages, once and for all.

Our Thoughts on Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers

Probably one of the lamest in the series and that is saying something. Before you jump on Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, I love that movie!

. I’m a big fan of the original and a couple of the sequels, but this one comes as a huge disappointment. Ridiculous plot and lack of continuity ruins the already struggling series. This film loses any creepy feeling associated with the previous films or with our favorite character, Michael Myers.

Trivia

As a result of Donald Pleasence‘s death, as well as creative differences between Joe Chappelle and the producer, and an allegedly bad test screening of the original work (the famous producer’s cut) re-shoots were done as well as lots of editing, to the anger of most of the cast and crew. Many vowed never to make another Halloween movie again after all the changes.
