Week 183 (BMAL 888)

Doctorate of Strategic Leadership program Robert Forto

Week 183

Well, I got back my literature review on Sunday and I knew there would be a lot of edits but I had no idea it would be like it was.

I turned Task 7.2–it is what has already been approved in Task 7.1 and the newly added Lit Review.

I get it back and my chair is requiring 33 (!!!) changes to the ALREADY approved work including adding another research question (which those have been approved since when, task 3??)

By requiring another research question it essentially changes everything possibly including the constructs, concepts, triangulation, etc. not to mention a heck of a lot more to the lit review itself.

And 10 changes to the 40 page lit review.

How is this even possible?

This is why nobody is progressing.

The above was a post I wrote on the program’s FB page yesterday and the comments really started to fly. It look like a lot of people are in the same spot as I am, we already knew that.

But  now that I have had a day to process this, I understand that this is a working and fluid document and will require changes and edits as we go along. But I still do not expect all of these changes.

I already know I will have to repeat 888. I knew that as early as August and that is not a huge deal to me other than the out of pocket financial outlay.

This week I will go through all of the edits and try to make it better. I really have no other choice. We are at the mercy of the “system” and that is expected. I just wish we had some sort of voice.

What are your thoughts? Especially if you are in this stage of the program?
