Week 132 of 186 (BMAL 785)

Doctorate of Strategic Leadership program Robert Forto

Week 132

Moving right along. Just three weeks left of BMAL 785 and I hope that all works out well in the end.

I was so fortunate enough this week to start working with a mentor/coach that came about from one of my long-time podcast fans. Her husband, it turns out has worked with a lot of doctorate students and agreed to become a part of my team.

I am so grateful!

Here is my progress report for Week 5:

Proposed topic

The proposed topic is the transgenerational succession in the family business with a leadership component.

Description of your progress during the past week

I submitted Task 5 late in the evening on Thanksgiving and was surprised to have comments back on Friday morning with a couple of edits. I re-submitted today, Saturday, with just one edit, the diagram. Hopefully, that will be approved by Monday. I have already worked on the extra two sections for Task 6 and am ready to incorporate them when I get Task 5 approved.

Description of any roadblocks you hit during the week and how you are working through them

My biggest roadblock is trying to figure out the diagram in Task 5. This is the first time I have attempted one of these, and I think I am overthinking it. I spent more than a few hours finding answers online and did not get much help. If anyone is willing to share a tip, that would be great!

Description of what you plan to accomplish next week

Hopefully, Task 5 will be approved early in the week, and I can move on to completing Task 6. I have to head back to Seattle later in the week for round two of dental appointments for a couple of implants I am getting in my lower front teeth, so that is always fun. I am looking forward to the holiday break and thinking about what comes next, as I am sure many of you are too.
