Watch on an Airplane | 31 Nights of Horror Challenge

Monstrous

For this year’s 31 Nights of Horror Challenge, the Day 18 prompt was supposed to be Toni Collette but since we just watched Hereditary (2018) and Robert was on a plane he was limited on his choices so he went with Monstrous (2022). This was one of the few  movies  that he has not heard much about and wanted to give it a chance.

Our Thoughts on Monstrous (2022)

Being limited on bonafide scary movies to watch on a 4-hour transcontinental  plane trip you can not be too choosy.

Robert wanted to check out Boogeyman but went with this one instead and while a lot of people on IMDB gave it poor reviews, it was pretty good.

I don’t know why this is so poorly rated on here. Probably teenagers expecting a slasher or something. I would say this is a very mild horror with a good story.

Anyway, for the adults, this is a good solid story where you are never quite sure where it will go

The acting is superb, and is the production. The 1950s cinematography  and style is great.

One thing you might find odd is the constant references to Hotpoint – but this becomes clear in the end.

Well worth a watch.

6.5 out of 10
