The Future Home of Iditarod Dreams: Sippin the Apple Juice and the Video World

September 28, 2010 by robertforto Leave a Comment

Beam Me Up Scotty

Okay, okay, all of my rabid readers, friends and fans know by now you know I am a geek. I am the first to jump on the newest technology. Some could even call me a slave! Just last week I had to sip the Apple juice again and get the new iPhone 4. While I like all the new features and the screen display is awesome, it really is just like the old iPhone 3 if you download the latest operating system (except for the front facing camera). I still have not figured out why so many people like to take pictures of their oversized head with a cellphone…

About a week ago I sent my wife a little “surprise” in the mail. No, it wasn’t a box a chocolates or flowers. I am not a mushy guy like that. Instead I sent her a web-cam!

Last night we hooked them up and made our first call. It has been about a month since we have seen each other and both of us have a case of ‘I miss you blues’ so we thought this would be a good way to connect.

While I am using my built in camera on my Macbook, Michele is using a Walmart special, $44.00 plug and play model. While it was cool to see each other. I am amiss to think how could the goons from Star Trek have such cooler technology? Heck that was made in the 1970s and the could beam themselves up with the magic touch from Scotty.

Anyhow, it was cool to see my sweetie and we hope to do it again soon. What did they say? By 1999 Robots would be taking over the earth?

They got a long way to go baby…

I welcome your comments and suggestions. Please comment below.
