NaBloPoMo: What do you still make-believe?

May 29, 2012 by robertforto Leave a Comment

I am participating in the NaBloPoMo challenge for May. It should be a fun one. It is titled: Play.

Today’s topic is: What do you still make-believe?

While I don’t play make-believe I do believe that in this world of hard realties and second-hand gossip there just has to be something to believe in. I think that the spirit of Christmas allows us to believe in what is inside…

As a child you believe that the magic is in opening Santa’s presents. What you don’t learn till your a parent is that the magic starts long before Santa comes. It starts when your childrens eyes light up with whatever traditions your family follows. Mine is when my children used to help put out the cookies and carrots and a Coke for Santa, and when they help me make our special reindeer food and spread it out on the walk for the reindeer to eat when they stopped by. It’s also when you realize that you never stopped hearing the bells you just needed your children to remind you to listen.
