I am participating in a 30-day challenge. This time it is all about horror! If you know anything about us here at the Fort, you would know that we are hardcore horror fans. Each October, we watch a movie night that we dub “The 31 Nights of Horror.”
Day 9 Prompt: Dumnmest Character in Horror
There are a few to choose from here, namely Wendy from The Shining, Darry Jenner from Jeepers Creepers, and maybe even Ash from The Evil Dead franchise, dare I say it.
But Mayor Larry Vaughn from Jaws (1975) is my tip pick. In today’s world, this clown would probably be showcased on American Greed for his antics, and his actions would probably land him in the pen. Larry is continuously controlled by greed.
After clear evidence that a shark is living in the waters, he refuses to believe it and does not listen to a single word from experts. He does little to help and offers no feasible solutions. He clearly does not care about the safety of the people and cares more about the town’s finances.
