
We are heading into the home stretch of my first course in the next saga of my Midlife in College journey. This course, BMAL 602, has been a breeze so far, and we have just a discussion post, a couple of replies, a quiz, and a 300-point paper left.
The paper is the first and largest assignment in the course, accounting for a third of the grade.
There isn’t much to report this week at the end of week six. This week, we had to reply to two of our classmates’ discussion posts, and I mentioned one of my favorite scholars, John Kotter.
John Kotter’s 8-Step Model for leading change is a widely used framework that guides organizations through successful transformations by outlining specific steps, starting with creating a sense of urgency, forming a strong guiding coalition, and developing a clear vision. The model then focuses on building and empowering the organization with a volunteer army to drive action, generating quick wins to build momentum, and ultimately sustaining and instituting the change to make it permanent within the company culture.
