Hope

We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.–Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

What a fitting quote for today’s exercise. As we in America celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday we are asked about hope.

Today’s Daily Post topic: Questions about hope. I took a little different spin on it and detailed what hope means to me. It is a short post but to me its very profound. Hope is something that makes us uniquely human. Our greatest gift is our mind and with that we are able to process, overcome, digest, and conquer–everything from fear to the unknown. To many we thrive on hope. To others we dream of tomorrow.

Hope is a funny thing. It is what we hold onto and what we hold out for. It is the desire to keep on going when the tough gets going and the passion that makes us unique as individuals.

Hope allows us to succeed against the greatest obstacles and overcome our greatest fears.

Hope allows us to bask in our triumphs and learn from our mistakes.

Hope is the teacher that knows no rules but teaches us strict discipline.

Hope can be the product of change or the process of discovery.

Hope does spring eternal and that is what we live for isn’t it?

Hope is a good thing–maybe the best thing, and no good thing ever dies.–Stephen King (The Shawshank Redemption)
